Peter Bolt is an Iron Man and, arguably, WA’s coolest uncle. In December 2016 Peter completed the gruelling SunSmart Busselton IRONMAN course and, in so doing, raised an incredible $5500.00 for CCF.
Peter completed a a 3.8km swim, 42.2km run and 180km cycle. He did this because he loves his sport but the driving force was Charlotte. Charlotte is Peter’s niece and inspiration. She is an eight-year-old Busselton girl with a big smile and ambitions of becoming a world-famous guitarist. She is also a girl who spends several hours a day taking medication or completing her treatments for Cystic Fibrosis with little fuss. Charlotte’s life expectancy is greatly shortened by this disease but research holds the key to giving her a long and full life.
Charlotte’s mum and Peter’s sister Odette sought out CCF as she wanted any funds raised to go towards research. CCF is 100% volunteer run which means all the money raised goes directly to the cause.
Research funded by CCF has lead to improvements in clinical care for people living with CF all around the world. This is something we hope to continue.
So as well as being an Iron Man and a celebrated uncle, Peter is now also a part of a life-saving endeavour for Charlotte and the 3300 other Australians living with CF.
Today we say a huge and collective thank you to Peter, Odette, the Bolt and Blennerhassett families!
